Show me a definite code for ethics and you may be able to argue it. Secondly, where is the conflict of interest, exactly? These two are technical people and supposed to be commentating about the play on the field. Why are you expecting them to not sign up with BCCI and not comment on technicalities of the play on the field? If these fellas keep bigging up the technicalities of only Indian players and keep criticizing the players of different countries vis-a-vis their technicalities on the field of play then there is a conflict of interest. So, no, it is not the right time, space, perspective, and context. It is not the right context because they are cricket technical fellas and you are somehow drawing a correlation for that with them having an interest in BCCI politics. Perspective-wise, you have not bothered to look from their perspective - you are happy to view it from your perspective only....not even your fellow fans', you surely haven't viewed it from the perspective of all the fans who disagree with you. I mean do I really need to get into the details of how t,s,p,c changes things? First you show me where it sez that Gavva and Shastri are supposed to tag along BCCI's official line on the matters of technicalities on the field of play, and I will admit there is a conflict of interest.

As a fan I don't expect a commentator to talk about the politics of things happening outside. I am rather more interested in his technical view of what is happening with the game being played in front right now. I don't mind a few anecdotes to keep it jolly. Do you expect anything more than that?

Ok, if these guys are as "independent" as they claim to be, why does BCCI insist that a broadcasting channel HAS to take them on as commentators for games in India? What is BCCI paying them money for? They're commentators now, surely that should not have anything to do with a Board. Which commentators a channel chooses to employ should be the prerogative of the channel, isn't it?

With the amount of crap going on in cricket, they are naturally going to talk about everything around cricket. Maybe you haven't noticed or heard it, but it happens all the time. They don't have many technical views. If you've heard many from these both, please share with us. Here is a post I made over a year and a half ago

Don't ask difficult questions. And not just pay them, pay them ridiculous amounts. Half a million pounds a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hate Sunny and Ravi as comms. Verbally they have the eloquence of monotonous nongs. Ganguly better than both of those 2 dullards. In fact he is easily the best indian comm.

^^ Agree, Shastri no longer does cricket commentary. At least Gavaskar is fun sometimes when he brings up those funny anecdotes. Guess they have been commentators for too long. Saurva is really nice and brings a breath of fresh air to the commentary box. Let's hope it stays that way.

Are when the whole BCCI have conflict of interest & why Ravi & Sunny cant earn very very good money by have some themselves. eg...BCCI secretary...also top gun in IPL & also owners of CSK. Sachin....playing whole IPL & resting Ind International games to recover (& so does all teh other Indian players....heck...they play with broken body in IPL). I can go on & on..but whats the point. BCCI management is a joke...& making more & more money is their only goal.

Aamir Sohail and Rameez Raja are the most annoying commentators than these two Ravi is one of the best commentators.
