Dont know how much coach can contribute except maybe pass on usefull tips on certain aspects of batting and bowling.Its up to the players to practice hard, work on their technique and deliver.

There are two aspects of coaching, one is the position he is coaching like batting, bowling etc and that is where they pass the techniques and teach the game. The other position is the most important and that is to have all these 11 guys act as a team and extract the most out of them. That is the hard part and trust me if it was NFL or NBA they would do exactlly what I said.

Parcells is over-hyped... can't even remember when he won anything of note last and left Dolphins in the lurch. As for Belichik, having Brady on your side helps you a lot. Anyway comparing a cricket captain to a NFL coach is apples and oranges - captain has to play as well whereas coach can simply do whatever he wants to on the sidelines knowing he wouldn't have to play.

I get your point but I am talking about one game only. That will clear his head and he will come back stronger. We all agree he is the best in the world but right now mentally fatigued and very low on confidence.

i understsand where your'e comming from... but the reason I say its wrong to drop him for even 1 game is... that might play more in his head.. i captained my highschool in bball and use to be the 1st option... but i had a rough patch, and the coach dropped me for 2 games... i was mentally hurt by being benched and never really came back the same player.. im not comparing myself to sachin lol.. but just saying, you should let great players get out of their slump.. prime example is my main man Dravid.
