Temujin Khaghan Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 how much a rival should have hated us to gloat and rub it in so much? australia were all about pre-series statements and gamesmanship. even after the acrimonious sydney match, a lot of their explayers including legends like Neil Harvey said that australian celebrations after the match were in bad taste. i really dont remember aus commies rubbing it in after winning against us. after winning the 2007 20-20 wc symonds said something like he wants to take away the joy from the indian players who took away what he wanted... they thrashed us 5-2 in a one day series and then let it go. gilchrist? clarke? punter? hayden? mcgrath? remember anything which was on the lines of non-stop gloating? i dont... pakistan are our arch-rivals. but due to the generation most of us are brought up in, it wasnt uncommon to see a ramiz raja praise sachin's strokeplay or a ravi shastri marvel at wasim's bowling prowess. it was mutual... both praise and words being said... and then people moved on. the most hated player in pakistan is gambhir probably because of his on field incidents against their local favourite afridi. most of the hatred between the fans is more driven by the political situation between both the team than anything. last 1 decade many of their ex-players praised one of our batsmen... abbas, miandad, wasim, imran, qadir we never dominated saffers in a single test series that we ever expected them to say respectful things. but rubbing in after beating us at home or in any other ICC tournament was never seen from them. srilanka, nz, windies... out of question. after kicking us out of the 2007 wc jayawardene and sanga could have said a lot of things about our team. they just said that they can understand the pressure of the indian team to perform well in a wc and offered commiserations. now comes england... seriously where does all this hatred come from. we never even had a history in test encounters. we were neck to neck with the best team of the previous decade - australia. at that time england used to be routinely humiliated. flintoff took a team to oz and got whitewashed 0-5. now the english are telling us lessons about preperation. sure we went unprepared. but this seems a little OTT to me. how much they dislike us for dominating the cricket world in the last 3 years? the rubbing-in and gloating by their ex-players,fans, media and their present players is beyond expectations of everyone. this is just beyond imagination.
cameron_black Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 unlike most of the other countries mentioned above, it's the first time england has reached such heights in their 150+ year cricketing history. so you'd expect them to get overjoyed and over-react to things in the process. it's not like india were humble while holding on to the throne. what you give comes back at you eventually.

Dude, you are really beginning to annoy me. You are a bangbro for fux sakes, not worth pissing on. Why don't you go back to East Pakistan and ask your west paki bros to come and **** your country again.... **** off.

amiret Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 seriously where does all this hatred come " I don't sense any hatred , just disdain and surprise at how misleading the rankings have been and the manner in which the team has capitulated repeatedly and how ineffectual the bowling has been over 4 test matches.
bulbul Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 To OP... not All the English fans doing this...only commis and few others... have visited Guardian site regularly...most posters generally praise our Greats... some people behave badly..but you can find such guys even in our forums also... one thing i noticed is even English fans also bit disspointed because of Our total humiliation, not putting of any effort etc... everyone wanted a Great series but we played worse than anyone expected...

That's a balanced response and one I agree with. What hate? The English media have actually had to talk up India at times, so dire has been the mismatch. They came here as the number one side, remember? This is pretty sad. Your side has just been hammered to smithereens and you can't take a bit of ribbing? Jesus..

Gunner take a deep breath and ignore him. The highlighted part was absolutely unnecessary. He wanted to troll and I gave trolls what they like, abuse. :winky:
Ultimate_Game Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 @Gunner, Dude take it easy. This is the time for all Paki, SL, B'desh troll to come out here and have some fun. After all they have been waiting for India to have a bad series for a loooong time and the recent WC drubbings hurt them quite a bit. Obviously they can't actually beat us themselves and are falling over themselves with delight seeing India have a poor series in a long while Just imagine bud what their life has been till now - coming up with conspiracy theories, watching endless replays of Tendulkar's LBW call in the semis, crying about SL "fixing" the final etc. Let them have a nice time but pity their team is still not doing anything to shout about :haha:

ganeshran Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Meh. who cares what others think of our team. Its important for our team to perform, which is not happening.

Guest Gunner Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 well' date=' have to say, there's certainly a bit of truth in that :--D[/quote'] If that is the case, you should really think about why foreigners ruled the Indian sub continent for so many centuries.

India Test series Cesc Nasri Today's match calm down
CSK Fanatic Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 What next we gonna discuss on this forum? Winston Churchill's Bengal Famine? Come on guys, even when we were not number 1 in 2003, 2007 series vs ENG, everytime we were on top, Sunil Gavaskar was bragging all time on TV. It's their payback time, Gavaskar/Botham type biased commies are responsible for hate. Gavaskar always had an agenda even before IPL, unknowingly it even maligns Tendulkars name due to their closeness. Even those who used to admire Sachin are today haters due to such low class commentary, yes we know Sachin is great but Gavaskar tries to shove his opinion up others *** when Sachin plays for India. Some writer said Islam is best religion but has worst followers, same is case with Sachin and his fans. Gavaskar still holds grudge against some people from his playing days, now that my friend is very poor trait to have in commentator who you expect to present you neautral view point. I hate writing long paragraphs, but you guys forced me with multiple threads, your reactions are unjustified.

And this has always riled up the anti-BCCI/Indian brigade, with minimum effort (no preparation, no tour games, no India A team, no back-up plan, poor First Class circuit, distraction of IPL, etc) we somehow found ourselves as No.1 team, and hardly ever celebrated like the way we won the World Cup, or even the T20 World Cup! This England team is pretty much the same group of flops who got hammered 5-0 in Australia few years back, but with some intense work ethic and drive instilled in them by Flowers has turned them into the best team.
Midfielder Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Dude it is their moment in sun. Let them enjoy it.

Ain't that the truth. Indian fans have been unbearable since they became no.1 (and they were pretty arrogant prior to that). It really isn't a surprise that ppl are giving them back what they dished out for several years
