Gujrat responding to TN's 698/8 are 410/5..would be amazing if Gujrat bat out the day today..both teams would get no ponits..would be apt for TN who went onto bat when they should have declared after 550.

Can anybody pls post score of MP - Haryana match? Cricinfo and BCCI.tv doesn't open in office and anyother link I don't know. Result of this match can guarantee a QF spot for MP.

Gujrat concede first innings lead and after that TN openers having fun, 100/0 after 14 overs, Mukund 45*, Vijay 57*, even Parthi Patel rolled his ar over for 2 overs! MP vs Haryana- MP 487, Haryana 125 and 319/6, with 3 points from this match MP would jump to 16 points, nearly securing a spot in QF.

I was hoping for an outright innings victory for MP. They seem to be looking good at the moment with two key players Sudhindra and Naman ojha in form.

Manoj Tiwary scored 187 in Bengal's 397/9 to outscore Delhi (392). Bengal was 138/5 at a point and Tiwary singlehandedly helped them to cross the line. The Delhi attack is not bad with Pradeep Sangwan and Parvinder Awana in it. And I guess, they played on a green top as well. Top performance!

Mumbai seal a first innings lead point against UP in a drawn match curtailed by fog in Lucknow. Stellar bowling from Ramesh Powar with 5 wickets. Ably aided by Dhaval Kulkarni keeping things tight from the other end. With the match of Punjab v Karnataka inconclusive with Punjab taking a first innings lead, Mumbai have virtually sealed their spot for the knockouts of the Ranji Eilte.

Orissa Ranji team grounded, twice over

The Orissa Ranji Trophy team that became the first to be relegated to the Plate division this season have had their wings clipped. Literally. As a punitive measure for their poor display, after they got just two points from six games, the state cricket association has decided to bar the team from travelling by flight from the next season. “They got all the facilities and still couldn't put up a face-saving performance,” said Ashirbad Behera, the secretary of the Orissa Cricket Association (OCA). “So we have decided to take the rights of flying away from them. From next season, they’ll be travelling by train,” an upset Behera told HT on Saturday, a day after Orissa were upstaged by Railways on the basis of the first-innings lead. Orissa are the only team to have less than five points in the Super League. GRADED PAYMENTS The OCA has also requested the BCCI to allow it to change the mode of payment to players. “We've been thinking of bringing in a graded system, just like the BCCI has for its top cricketers. There are some who do worse than the others but are still paid the same amount,” Behera added. If OCA manages to change the system, it will become the first state unit to introduce a graded payment system. As of now, Ranji players get match fees and the non-playing members receive half the amount. Orissa began the season on the wrong foot and it has been downhill since then. Former Aussie batsman Michael Bevan was roped in as coach but went home due to his daughter's illness and never returned. Skipper Haladhar Das was banned for a game for turning up drunk on the eve of their tie against Punjab.

Someone needs to tell these idiotic babus in cricket associations that flight travel or staying in good hotels isn't exactly a 'facility', its a necessity in the modern game at the first class level. But obviously these goons still live in the feudal era and take the cricketers to be their slaves. BTW if Bengal were to be relegated as well, there would be no team from the East Zone in the Elite league next year :((

Bengal is not getting relegated. :winky: It even has a fair chance of getting through to the quarters if they beat Baroda :woot:

Wonder what more Dinda can do to be in the reackoning for the Indian team. I hope this is Raja Venkat's last term as selector.
He needs to bowl out Baroda for 150 each in both innings in the next match. If he is that good, he should be able to manage that. :winky:

As of now they are last in their group and are fighting with Haryana and Gujrat for the relegation. And for going through to Quarters, they need to beat Baroda by an innings and then also hope that the match between Haryana and Gujrat doesn't result in an innings win for either side!
