I dont know why but in my dreams I always see our old house where I grew up between age 10-17). The other houses I stayed for longer durations, surprisingly never ever came up in my dreams. Not even once. I think my internal broadband speed is too slow to process and upload the data into my dreams or may be I am attached to that house :S :hmmm: other interesting thing is my second dog (died 7 years back) always pops up at least once regardless of the genre of the dream.
I think that holds true for most of us. You may end up in bigger, better houses in your life than the one you spent time when you were between 10-17, give or take a few. Oddly enough the one that you are reminded of is still this one though.

:nervous:

So I returned the couple of laptops as I hop from my old company to the new one. The evening was spent wiping off the hard drives, copying over the stuff that may come in handy, and sometime stopping to pause a second and remember the whole scenario around which a certain presentation was done, an issue fixed, a subordinate praised (or appraised). As somebody who has been doing gigs like this for a decade or so it should come naturally, but still doesn't to me. The whole act of cleaning desks, shaking hands, sending emails, godspeeds and hugs still gets me. And the final drive off the company parking lot often comes with a liberating feeling as also a tinge of sadness. Maybe its the softie in me? Or maybe time still has not turned me cynical? So how attached do you get? To people? Places? Things??
LOL! Nice question...am the last one to answer that well...I have switched 10 times since I started working in 99. And my current deal is the second time I am working with the same company for the second time...and would you believe it, I just wrote an email just day before yesterday (to one of my ex-colleagues at the company with which I worked twice already) asking if anything going on in there so I can go back? Except for one place so far I haven't left on bad terms as such, fortunately. I just get bored when there is not much work to do...I don't mean the effort intensive ones coz they are as boring as hell. I like fresh new ideas and development of those ideas a lot so if I go for 2-3 months without having to do something new then I start getting itchy...lol!

Specific to jobs - I have changed so many times that apart from spending too much time taking backup of every bit and byte, I detach easily - I stay in touch with only select few. But yes, later in free times I do get nostalgic moments about every place I have been.
Now, that is my pal! :winky:

Same here. Most places I have worked at, we have seperated on good terms so going back should be alright most times. However when it comes to personal life I can not say I have always had an amiable seperation with women. Wonder why is that? xxx

Maybe you are not willing to forgive yourself for having a relationship with those women? Just choose a few different perspectives and view those experiences again and you will find peace. Time is a healer but you need to allow it to heal...most effective way is to look at it from the opposite person's perspective - u may not agree with what they did but you would at least understand why they did it and that in itself does wonders to reconcile with self.

Very true. Or that maybe that I like to keep life simple and not too complcated?? :hmmm: Not sure how that observation came to mind but sure did.
