yadhav500 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 But I think we still have the best seam attack in the subcontinent. Pakistan and Lanka have gone down considerably.
kabira Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Statistics only give you partial picture .If we check the statsguru then Munaf is better than Steyn, morkel,Broad ,anderson http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=2;spanmin1=08+sep+2010;spanval1=span;template=results;type=bowling Now which idiot will pick Munaf ahead of Steyn ,Even Mpofu is ahead of Steyn:hysterical: happens when kids look at the stats... Those stats just shows highest wicket takes in a year. Taking wickets depends on number of matches you play. Steyn's figures are exceptional and better than Munaf so even by stats you can chose Steyn over Munaf. Check out Zaheer v/s Steyn..who would you pick up??
TheYuvi02 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Ishant Yadav Aaron Ojha / Ashwin This is the bowling attack I hope to see line up for us in tests soon. Doesn't look very inspiring but better than the current one definitely :two_thumbs_up:
CG Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Ishant Yadav Aaron Ojha / Ashwin This is the bowling attack I hope to see line up for us in tests soon. You cannot have three hit the deck bowler ,you need balance we need a left arm bowler as left handers really struggle against them we need to groom a left armer and if aaron is quick he and ishant + swing bowler would do and in india we can go with ojha+ashwin or bhajji .yadav should be in the team and developed.
TheYuvi02 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Munaf patel currently should not be in the team, he has been pathetic while bowling and on the field and now bowls around 125 kph. Harbhajan hopefully has been kicked for good and mishra's stats are misleading.

Pakistan and Lanka have gone down considerably. Without zaheer this is one of the *****iest "seam" attack I have ever seen. He is injured and he is 33, need to look beyond him and other failures like sreesanth

Check out Zaheer v/s Steyn..who would you pick up?? I will definately pick steyn any day ,BTW just look at S. Broad's stats they are not better than Munaf also Tsotsobe's stats are better than steyn Would you pick Tsotsobe over steyn and Munaf over broad? Anyway my point is in cricket Stats cannot give you accurate picture ,it depends what role is assigned to you ,death bowlers always take more wickets than the one who bowl middle overs

I will pick Munaf ahead of Broad wtf is this ****? broad 83 match 135 wickets avg 27 sr 31 and munaf 68 match 85 wickets avg 29 sr 36. Broad is a **** but a better bowler than munaf clearly.. not to mention he got atleast 10-15 kph on munaf.

In that period, Zaheer outbowled him. He is best bowler with old ball. you have to look for consistency, experience all those things. Don't only look wickets, don't only look Economy rate, don't only look pace. its combined package. In ODIs you need change of pace. Let me tell you this...Zaheer is better death bowler these days than Steyn.
panesarv Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I think Munaf is the best fast bowler we have after Zaheer Khan. He is one bowler who batsmen can't hit out when they wish to.
Tiger80 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Economy Munaf-4.92 Broad-5.22 Dont forget,England fielding is much better. I will pick Munaf ahead of Broad Really ,thank god you are not selector ,yesterday when Munaf was thrashed so many people were writing that our medium pacers are like part timers and you want to pick Munaf ahead of Broad
Tiger80 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Stats cannot give you accurate picture. You have to consider fielding ' date='pitches etc[/quote'] This is what I am saying:banghead:. When it comes to entiire career average you want to pick Munaf but when it come to average of 1 year you want to prove that Munaf is better than broad

Steyn has slightly better average and same strike rate.Zaheer is also a very good bowler depending on his fitness but still I will prefer to put my money on Steyn

I think Zaheer is better than steyn in odi's even though stats don't reflect that but i am sorry i don't think many people will pick zaheer over steyn in tests. And steyn has a big pace advantage over zaheer not to mention zaheer is unfit thus unreliable and can break anytime, steyn has only gotten injured once or twice.

1983-2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 some people are so fickled, i have posted wickets and averages of indian bowlers but some people are comparing them with bowlers of other teams and their career averages, if you want to compare indian bowlers with bowlers of other teams then compare them in the past 12 months in ODIs!!
