rajmarie Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 IMO...its time the Indian selectors set a vision. eg...how abt a vision to create a pool of players for WC 2015. What abt another set of pool for Test team to reach No 1 again. Only with these visions & goals can be selection committee select better players or set in a rotation. AS someone said above...the national selectors need to consider not only players international commitment...but also consider IPL/CL too....considering some of the selectors are directly involved with those money making tournaments
achilles Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Jimmy's career has been harmed by selection practices so I expect him to be a good selector, unlike the selectors who seem to be looking just 1 way. Long term, yes Kumble would be good. But will the guy be able to sustain himself in Babu-land? No.
saneindian Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Indian Cricket would much rather want Kumble to sort out the mess NCA is in currently. As the KSCA chairman and NCA chief, he is the ideal person to get the NCA back on track and getting it fully functional and acting as a feederline for the national side. IIRC it was AK who had prepared a vision document for our national side after the Sydney disaster in 2008. If he could do something similar with the NCA , expecially on the bowling front, he would have done much more than he will ever do being the chief selector.

He speaks less but when he does, people listen and he is not one who will ever become a puppet of the BCCI or speak their language because of $$$.
bulbul Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 i doubt AK will try for Chief Selector or coach.....He may contest 2014 General election

But when you have 10 people outrightly opposing you, you have to compromise, even on flimsy grounds as "democracy and voting" is prevalent in administration.
