Jimmy should do well - he is not one to be put under any kind of pressure from any of the BCCI babus. I personally think Kumble would do well in a Coaching job or in cricket administration rather than Selection.

I will also see Kumble eg in charge of NCA. It has been clearly qiute a lot of unfit players lately...obviously under some pressure from BCCI top shots. Kumble in charge of it will stop all those.

Actually, this guy's incompetence got masked by #1 and WC. I do not recall of any 'intelligent' selections by Cheeka. over-persisting with YK, Jaddu.. no rotation/work-load management (after effects of what we are seeing now).. stuff like that happened during his tenure only.

There have been other blunders - never trying Rohit Sharma in Tests.. even when he was in red hot form in WI.... RS should have gotten his chance last year itself - against SL/NZ..

nah. Wengsarkar's term was also marked by such things many times. But I agree that Player rotation is one thing Cheeka should've done more especially with the IPL & CL added to the calenders nowadays.

That is what. Cheeka was supposed to learn from predecessor's mistakes. But it looks like these people just don't know how to do such responsible jobs effectively or there is too much pressure to handle from other sources.

it was not because of Cheeka. the same team is playing for long, Cheeka was just destined to come during this time. He did not show any vision or imagination for future as he does not believe in ifs and buts. HE thinks about present only means short term goals.

Cheeka and many others rode on the success of bunch of committed seniors and one coach, who managed to stay injury free and at the top of their game, as a unit. Hardly anything one had to do at selectors, or management level. How much of thinking/planning/management does it require? - Lets stick to - Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Dravid, Laxman, Kumble, Zak, Dhoni, Harbhajan, ...Kirsten...and few other regulars swaps between ODIs and tests.
