Re: Was it a mistake ODIs are also about scoring runs, yes a little faster. Yes, he should have played probably, but would he or gangs have scored there? I am sure they both would have done better than Jaffer which isn't saying much.

Re: Was it a mistake Well in SA or Aus pitches chances of success directly relates how good a back foot player you are. An educated guess rules out the exalted rivals, no matter how much more they have scored over him in total. Lax struggles against pitch up bowling in seaming coditions but probably one of the best when length is short and bounce is upwards of waist.

Re: Was it a mistake The first mistake selecting Jaffer for one dayers... The second mistake playing him in one dayers... And the fore most mistake not playing enough practice matches , which South African commentators are rueing now

Re: Was it a mistake problem was lack of experience and lack of from from experienced.. those newbies are learning it hardway.. part of game..

Rubbish. Don't confuse Tests with ODI's. Laxman is a good test match batsman - no more' date=' no less.[/quote'] And what are Suresh Raina, Mohammad Kaif and Waseem Jaffer?
