Yes start taking games away from certain venues, if the state boards can't be bothered to make an effort to sell tickets, don't give the games. I find it surprising how little is being done to promote the matches and tickets, isn't that their main source of revenue?

Gate money hardly earns them any money as most of the better prced tickets go out as complimentary passes to the local administration, affiliated club members, association staff etc. Not more than 25-30% of the total tickets are sold in the open market and the total sale would not be more than 50-60 lakhs even if they are able to sell all those tickets.

Ahhh seen. BCCI should reduce the amount a state board gets, depending on how many games they get. Then it should be up to the board to recover that money through sale of tickets. We can all blame BCCI for killing test cricket, but selling tickets in this instance should be the duty of CAB. Yup it does seem most of the nicely-priced tickets are given complimentary, and I guess the state boards are happy with that as long as they're getting a nice chunk from BCCI anyway

Can't see it making a difference long-term. Keep the tests at the main venues but improve things like facilities, scheduling, access to tickets, prices etc.

Or instead of pasting BCCI (not faultless by any means) We sadly may have to accept that fans no longer that interested in watching tests and want to watch ****ty cheer leaders at IPL. In previous years it would not matter who oppo was, what day or time of year it was, as Eden gardens would be rammed. Now it is not

BCCI should consider how they can: 1) Create a complete schedule with dates & venue atleast 6 months in advance. 2) Schedule Test from Thursday/Friday....which means that weekend will have good crowds. 3) Create better balance in games...rather then overkill. 4) Actually think for once about Indian cricket...rather then IPL/CL only. 5) Understand this...that a 10,000 crowd in a 80,000 capacity ground is better then having 500 (including security people & school kids) in a 40,000 ground. 6) Create a proper season....& allocate Test cricket to existing Test grounds. 7) Allow access to tickets for grounds easily...not like in Delhi..where people cant even buy tickets before tea after standing whole day in the line. Idea being...let people buy day to day tickets rather then forcing them to buy all 5 day tickets at the same time. 8) Let day 5 be free...or half price. After Tea entry to ground at 25% of the value. 9) Stop taking Indian cricket followers for granted.

now stop joking. Do you even know whats the crowd capacity of Jadhavpur University complex or where is that ground....or how much the ticket (if any) cost. If you can...go to any maidan hosting CAB league games...& you will always find some people watching it. FREE
