Dravid_TheWall Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 No Sree, sorry to disappoint you but your career is as good as ever. RPS has at least been picking wickets in domestic matches unlike you doing some dance show on the pretext of a career threatening toe injury. As for Parthiv, he has the experience of playing in Australia, plays the short ball quite well.. Plus he is plundering runs in domestic cricket. Would be a good reserve keeper. I don't care if rps has been picking wickets in domestic, we saw what he was made of in the tests v england. He is not international material anymore and the selectors know that international form is different to domestic god e.g jogi, pankaj. RP is well off radar, Sree is still in the limelight. :cantstop: So you are selecting a backup keeper because he plays the short ball well and scores runs? Hmm, please look up a keeper's primary role, it is the name :two_thumbs_up:

In another words, RPS still has a future, for you future is in those reality shows :--D As for specialist keeper, the days of such keepers is over. If you cannot score runs, you won't be in the squad. Lastly its a bit rich to hear you talk about primary role of a keeper as durig your playing days you hardly knew the primary role of a bowler. :winky:

A keeper should be able to bat AND keep or as a minimum just keep. Not JUST BAT. Because then we get the same idiots like you writing on icf that parthiv cost us the test match, gettting all angry, it's clear you haven't watched parthiv so no need to get defensive :yay: Sreesanth is above domestic and his talent is saved for where it matters, international ranbhoomi. This is why he will be called up because he is essential, pace spearhead leading from the front. Rare wicket taker. Despite being T20 AND ODI world cup winner, he is even better at test :hatsoff: Domestic in India is tamasha league, for losers like RP, playing against bichare weak players :hysterical: Santh leaves that to jokers, he play in Titans of Cricket, here he fought with real titans like himself e.g Flintoff, Tresko. Santh is described by website organising titans clash as "an aggressive competitor with searing pace and skill." RP can play against indian nobodies, bhajji has joined him in this humiliation and so will Ishant :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

I know it hurts you, but let me repeat it again for you, your international career is as good as ever. Rest of the post is just a rant from a frustrated soul and quite understandable.

"Kerala Express" is still king of pseudo Twitter philosophy :two_thumbs_up:
Sachin=GOD Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Sehwag Gambhir Rahane Dravid Goddy Laxman Pujara Rohit Sharma Dhoni PaPa Zak Ishant Umesh Yadav Varun PK Ashwin Ojha Bhajji (yeah I stil think he will go to Aus :D)
Cricket Tragic Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I don't think they will pick so many players although it is an option given what happened in England.
Ultimate_Game Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I don't think they will pick so many players although it is an option given what happened in England. They should. Generally teams pick 16 players on an away tour and we should pick 18 and let BCCI pay for the two additional players - it's not as if BCCI can't afford it and in case of injury we won't have to run around like headless chicken. Of course this makes way too much sense for BCCI to follow :winky:

He's yet to play a domestic game. Zaheer is being picked provisionally, and Kohli might get Rohit's spot depending on his performance in the 3rd test (which he is likely to play in).
pensionplan Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Bhajji (yeah I stil think he will go to Aus :D)Yes he will come in handy to be Tendulkar's security guard plus do laundry.

They will be fit and have matches under their belt as well.
Sachin=GOD Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 If the management has learned anything from the England tour then they will definitely go with at least a 17 man squad to Australia.

the_indian_fan Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 what about selecting khaleel as the 2nd keeper. a keeper should be picked on the keeping ability, not batting ability and most teams selected have been of 17-18 players. hope the bcci does the same
pensionplan Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Two guys I am worried about that perhaps may be selected. Dartbhajan - Useless. Once selected in the squad he will surely figure in the XI given his closeness to Tendulkar and Dhoni. Hope the selectors keep this useless guy out and take the decision making out of Dhoni's hands based on reputations while bowlers like Ojha may have to warm the bench despite being much better than Darty. Irfan 'Chuvha' Pathan - Another guy with all hype but no substance. I do not think he will be selected anyways but cannot stand someone like him selected in the touring party for some strange reason(S). If there is one guy who is an absolute no no in the squad it has to be the Bandhar from Jalandhar. Apart from that everything is a fair game and even if there are couple of border line selections eventually the the best XI will be picked anyway.

His ICL stint pretty much took few precious years away from him and it might be a bit late now given the way Indian cricket functions.
VRV Singh Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Does Rahane open for his domestic side? He is on the plane for sure and as an opener, but I am quite sure I read he doesn't. 17 man squad (Zaheer provisional) Sehwag, Gambhir, Rahane Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, Kohli, Rohit Sharma Dhoni, Saha Ashwin, Ojha Zaheer*, Praveen Kumar, Ishant, Yadav, plus one or two (Zaheer dependent) of Aaron/some other fecker from the wilderness. There is no way Dropthiv should be on the plane and after previous disasters Down Under I am quite sure he won't.
