Agreed that saying he was the next Akram was over the top. But Pathan did look like becoming something in the lines of Akram given his wonderful 2004-mid 2005, especially the matches vs Pakistan.

That was prime example of pre-mature-ejaculation. I mean, he started very well, but it was too early to compare with Akram. Its like comparing Afridi with Richards, after his first ODI century ( guess it was in second match).
