Rajiv Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I got a chance to play at Arvind Savur's place' date=' with some of his "shishiyas" - upcoming players, but that was the last time I played snooker [He bluntly said you are too old to become any good :(( - at best nationals, if practice your ass off']. After that only show-off sessions at work-place pool tables :) Btw, from player's perspective Billiards is much more engaging. touche
Brainfade Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I think you mean someone who played at a very high (world-class) level, but seemed not to work hard and relied mostly on his/her natural gifts. By these criteria, I have not seen anyone like John McEnroe. He claimed that he practiced for singles by playing doubles! Diego Maradona is another one. In cricket, I can think of Sehwag and Yuvraj, and from back in the day, G R Vishwanath. Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are, of course, extremely gifted, but they work/ed obsessively on their skills.
