Gautam Gambhir seems to be a shadow of his previous self..

No..by my logic Sachin has centuries...Kohli has a century plus has looked extremely comfortable at a 3 or 4 slot. Yuvi we've all seen what he can do and Sehwag with that amazing 175 plus his excellent match against South Africa....and Gambhir?? Gambhir is contributing nothing with the bat he cant contribute on the field and with the ball....same with Dhoni whos batting is out of form but who exactly would you have replace him as the keeper and Captain right now? Yah thats what I thought... I dont see why all Indian batsmen can contribute on so many levels, wickets, fielding, batting and Gambhir has not been able to contribute in any for as long as I can remember. Kohli and Yuvraj look AWESOME at 3 and 4 and Gambhir should be dropped to accomodate this. Pathan at the end is playing his game which is huge shots off limited balls. The reliable anchor that Gambhir is seems to be lost. You always whine oh he anchors our innings well...when will he do that and bat a good 30+ overs the way Yuvi and Kohli are doing for India? Sehwag Sachin Kohli Yuvraj Dhoni Raina Pathan Harbajhan Ashwin Zaheer Patel We dont need the so called "spin specialist" (dont know how he ever got that media infused title!) against a team that is bringing 100% pace attack.

Looks good if the openers give you a start but Lee/Tait can easily reduce India to 20/2. Not sure that Yuvraj would be the best man in that situation. Gambhir and Kohli provide solidity which you will need in the knockouts. Ridiculous suggestion to drop him.
Agreed. We need 2-3 solid players to support our strokemakers.

Guys I fully agree that Lee Tait could reduce India to 20/2 but with Gambhir there is no guarantee that Indian wont be 45/3 as well. Kohli at 3 is much more solid than Gambhir and even the ICC has recognized him as being India's best batsman and the second best batsman in the entire world. He must have that #3 slot and Yuvraj is the most in form Indian. Gambhir sucks bad against pacers and isnt going to bring anything to the australian match. He wont take any amazing catches, bowl anyone or hit a ton of runs!
