the bounce on Aussie pitches should benefit Ashwin as well. He constantly has been saying that bounce gets him wickets and not turn. I for one wont be surprised if he as a sub 30 average in Aus. Hard i know. But for me not surprising.
Not sure about Ashwin as I think this time we might have to see some green pitches in AUSTRALIA

He might as well. The Aussie batting is hardly anything to speak of.

Its not about how much kumble contributed, its about how much confidence the INDIAN team had on him... every time the guy went to the field the whole team expected him to win the game for us... even the opposition treated with respect except probably Sri Lanka as I have seen Aavinda treating kumble badly but apart from that when a guy like kumble was bowling the respect the opposition had for him made it possible for him to hold one end up and since he was a racehorse the other bowlers even knew if any of them wanted they could bowl a few overs less in a day and so gave maximum effort... you don't always have to get a 5 or 10- wicket haul in an innings or a match to give a positive result Similarly, even if sachin gets out for a duck, its his presence in the Indian side that makes the opposition respect the batting India has got... that in itself is a great morale booster for the entire team...
fair enough I take your point on the confidence thing.

well then why are we worried then Bank your hopes on Ashwin :--D 45 overs of the 90 we be bowled by him. 5 wickets guaranteed. But joking aside, I honestly think that he can hold one end up tightly and run through the aussie tail with this carom ball. The likes of Starc Pattionson and Lyon dont have good batting averages. I will take figures of 30 overs 90 runs and 3 wickets from him. @carnish I honestly think that Ashwin will be better on green pitches with cracks. Might suit his bowling ever more.

ishant isn't a matchwinner. So it really is no big loss. If India is going to win this series, it'll be on the back of a healthy Zaheer and Yadav. Otherwise, best hope for a draw and that batting doesn't crap the bed once again.

But the problem is with his replacements... those are the kind of bowlers who will take the pressure off the batters...esp. mithun.. consider this... zak bowling pretty well after a good spell by both umesh and ashwin but what happens on the other end is mithun going for a boundary every over... the batsmen would be relaxed and zak would become ineffective even though the same spell might be his best ever...so we need Ishant just cause his replacements are pathetic

It can't get worse than what happened in England' date=' only way India can go is up. So cheer up :two_thumbs_up:[/quote'] True. We lost by an innings and 250 runs in England. Hopefully it will only be an innings and 150 runs in Australia :two_thumbs_up:
