We really outcatched South Africans..We have brilliant slip cordon...with Sachin and Laxman very safe pair of hands..Dravid will be back soon in slips.. Sehwag took two very sharp catches...and overall fielding was brilliant... We had outcatched Aussies in 2003....and that was the reason we nearly won the series.. Against England this year, the reason we lost Mumbai Test match was we dropped lot of catches.. Hope they continue to field well and catch well..SA batting is nothing special..and we wont make sure we do not have to take more than 20 wickets..

Re: Fielding Spot on, Kabira. This is such a vital area of cricket, and so ignored. When we field well, we invariably win. Cannot overstate its importance, really.

Re: Fielding even in 2001 against Aussies, we took some blinders....remember some sharp catches at short leg and leg gully...also outfield catch by Zaheer Khan..

The catch Gangs took at 3rd slip wasn't bad either. It was highish, but he made it look as easy as peeling peas.

Re: Fielding Catches win matches and it showed why in the test match clearly. Ground fielding was at times wanting but the catching was brilliant to say the least. Ganguly, Lax, Sehwag and Tendulkar have very safe hands. Glad they were in right places. Rahul must be credited for having these guys in the right place most of the times. BTW it was good to see Ganguly put in extra effor in the field while fielding :wtg:
