Spiderguy252 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 If we lose at Sydney as well, or are psychologically beaten in a draw, I think there are large scale changes in order for this team. Gambhir: He is a proven performer for us, he had a superb tour of South Africa last year, and his rearguards in New Zealand were fantastic. Also, he was top scorers in our two limited overs triumphs in the last half a decade - the WT20 final in 2007, and the CWC final in 2011. Dropping such a bloke is crazy. Kohli: Typical. Swears and cusses at opposition players in Hindi when playing random 50 over games in his Dilli/Kolkotto home grounds, but is there to be gobbled up anywhere else. Even the West Indies. We're doomed if this pancake is our "future". Dhoni: Can't bat, can't captain. Made his reputation by swinging his way in some odd India-Sri Lanka/Pakistan home games (ODIs) and the media marketed him like he was Bradman. Worst thing is we can't drop him as he's keeper AND captain. Ideally, here are the changes I'd make if we lose test II. Not gonna happen, but hey, I can dream right: *Banish Dhoni from the test team. Gambhir to captain. Pity he's out of form, but he definitely has the mettle. *Dravid, Tendulkar, Sehwag stay. You are class and everybody knows it. *Laxman - serious questions have to be asked of this guy now. *Kohli: Sod off, kiddo. *Ishant: Poor on you to lie about your injury. Who do you think you play for, Pakistan? *Zaheer: One more injury and your time is up.
Spiderguy252 Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Talk about it when we lose that Test. Good to see you're using "when", not if.
Sachin=GOD Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Good to see you're using "when"' date=' not if.[/quote'] Ok, talk about it if we lose that Test :winky:
saneindian Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Another loss would mean 6 away tests lost on the trot and that will call for some heads to roll. Gambhir, VVS and MSD should go. Let Rohit, Rahane and Saha (along with Kohli) get some experience of playing in Aussie conditions and start re-building for the future. Lol dare I say call in some other young players like Pujara and play them as well. If at all we have to lose 4-0, let it be with a team of youngsters. Sehwag, Rahane, RD, SRT, Rohit, Kohli, Saha, Ashwin, Umesh, Ishant, Zaheer Sehwag or Zaheer could lead the side.
saneindian Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Dada in the star cricket studios is so emotional. You could very well say he feels India will find it difficult to comeback unless they make some changes. Not saying it it in as such but the way he repeated "I am worried" twice or thrice tell you he feels a 3-0 or 4-0 thrashing coming up. Kudos to him though for not showing his anger so far.

Well loosing , winning is part of the game, DROPPED CATCHES, RUNOUTS, SOME AIRY FAIRY SHOTS ALL THESE CAN HAPPEN AND CAN BE IMPROVED UPON OR WORKED ON, HOW CAN DECISIONS MADE ON THE FIELD AGAIN AND AGAIN WHICH MAKE OUR TEAM LOOSE BE BLAMED TO THE TEAM, IT IS THE CAPTAIN. Sehwag capt Gambhir Dravid Tendulkar Laxman Rohit Dhoni keeper only as we dont have a decent keeper bat on the bench Ashwin Ishant Umesh Ishant Ideally I would love to have Parthiv, Irfan,Mukund Rahul Sharma, Virat on the bench as replacements.

But I don't disagree with the general sentiment, if we lose a sixth away game in a row then it really is time to make wholesale changes. As you say, even if we get battered 4-0 at least some young guys will have gotten experience of Test matches outside Asia.
Needforspeed Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I think mentally now all Indian cricket fans are prepared for a 4-0 thrashing and I think this is going to be the trend in our next few away series in Aus, England & SA.

peterparker Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 only indian team is one which brings form of all other teams..thats why there questionable no.1 team..now i accept it..they don't deserve to be no1
Jersey #10 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Makes me wonder why put up Gambhir's name over Dhoni's? It's not like Gambhir has done anything impressive to overpower Dhoni in this test.
Jersey #10 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Where is Pujara when we need him the most? The guy looked very promising. the only two guys to come to my mind are Rohit and Pujara right now...
