Technical element of Indian cricket..

... is lacking. Whether it's batting, bowling or captaincy, I feel there's lack of proper guidance, analysis and strategy making. Although we can't be sure what goes on between the support staff and the players but I feel there lot of scope of improvement in the planning, preparation, fine tuning, discipline and execution. Also, there's a visible 'lack of communication' in the team on the field. Almost as if everybody is lost in his own world. This is what one of my friend observed on Day 3 (He posted this in another forum):

Day 3 at the Victor Trumper for me. It's a bit cloudy. A cool breeze is blowing in the Northern direction. Right now, Glenn McGrath is speaking about the McGrath foundation activities. Today is the Pink day at the SCG for Jane. The stands are filling up. We've another 15 minutes for the start. Can India fight back to reclaim some of the wounded pride? Or will we allow the game to drift and wait for that declaration? I'd like to see India go for an early wicket and hope to remove the tail quickly. Dhoni needs to show a bit more enterprise, intuition and mobility on the field. He's a bit too passive and doesn't seem to have control of things. The bowlers, at times, set their own fields and move the field around, with the skipper not having any control on the field, which is disappointing. Dhoni doesn't talk to anyone on the field. Sachin tried to speak to him a few times; he was sent to the outfield, which if fair enough, since Sachin's ideas are usually rubbish on the field. Viru spoke to Dhoni once, and Dhoni spoke to Laxman once. That's it. Otherwise, Dhoni is in his own thoughts, allowing the game to drift away, in its own merry way.
