^^ I thought he was a complete dumbass..ignored the warning signs early on and stayed right in there when he should;ve gotten out. Play turns to Kill in the blink of an eye when it comes to wild animals, they are never tame.

That warning sign is surely for visitors & rightly so, the Zoo authorities don't want to get sued if some fatality happens, well in this case the Journalist was allowed to go in..I feel he had the balls to do so and to experience how it feels to pet a Lion, he would've been dumb if he just went in without the prescence of that trainer. Now there are two ways to look at it, someone like me would call him brave bcoz not many would even THINK about doing something like that, it takes lot of guts to do that. other way would be....." No way I could ever do this..period, so no point in praising the other person who actually did it, so let me just call him dumb and feel good" :--D
no..what I meant by warning sign..was that the big cat wanted to play rough with him right from the start.. regardless of the presence of the trainer..even if the trainer was someone with the strength of Khali, he wouldn't be able to do much if the Lion decides to take it to the next level. (He was in a great spot of bother even during the 'play' here..) There is nothing brave or manly about trying to pet an animal that is essentially an alpha-predator in the wild... there have been so many cases of exotic pets in the US who were hand-fed and brought up only to have 'accidentally' disembowelled or decapitated its 'master'... And if things did go wrong..the poor animal could've been shot and killed for doing something that is nothing but its ordinary predatory instincts.
