it's not allowed by the icc. it's in the ftp. we just played four away series. now we'll play three home series. just like how england are now going to tour the sc.

But we have to tour away every year without exception, so why do you guys get a year off? BCCI bung is my guess

where are we getting a year off? we toured aus in early 2012. will tour SL in mid 2012. play three home series and then go to SA in 2013.

No wonder your homesick cricketers get cranky and start fighting with each other, throw tantrums, get into severe depressions and eventually seek premature retirements. And I thought they have colonial genes.

So what's the big deal? We've played mostly just away series this year so it's obvious we'll play more home series next year. The BCCI's influence within the ICC is well known, why bring it up time and again as if it's something new? Compared to the influence Australia and England had at one point in the game's history, it's nothing.

Now that I think about it, maybe that's not a bad thing after all for England. India played too many series at home over the last 2 years and got too cozy playing in home conditions that when they went outside this year they looked like fish out of water. Touring every year would probably help the team learn to adapt.

The truth is quite the opposite ... Eng plays a sh!t load of matches at Home. Yeah that's right. Because we often have 5 and 4 tests match series. Back in the 90's sometime 6. Countries from the subcontinent and teams like New Zealand don't want this. Sri Lanka only a two match series away. What's the point of a two match series?

sri lanka play two match series as no one wants to play them as it's not financially profitable.

If that is the case then, no you are not getting a year off unless that tour in 2013 is at the end of 2013

All at home. Well as you see we have to tour away every single year, but I suppose a tour for you to Bang, SL or Pak is like playing at home. Only NZ is like playing at home for us:((

In any given 3-4 year period, we play most number of away matches, proportionately more than any other team. The BCCI schedules the away tours in a block of 9-12 months. We have played 14 away tests in last 12 months. Not sure if thats the ideal thing to do. Players do not get to play outside Asia for 2 years at a stretch and then get exposed in alien conditions. With a young team on the horizon, BCCI will need to look at having one tour outside Asia every year if they want to give the youngsters the chance of doing well outside Asia. Also we should never tour SA, Eng and Aus in the same year like we did this time or even in 2006-07. Doesn't give the team enough time to be ready for such tough tours.

What ready yaar... We may not have been ready for England but in Oz? We went there 2 weeks before. Played an extra practice game. Had our first choice X1.
