Texy Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Pakis take the cake when it comes to hypocrisy. They always belittle IPL but glad now that their players are joining BPL
Malcolm Merlyn Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Pakis take the cake when it comes to hypocrisy. They always belittle IPL but glad now that their players are joining BPL I hope they get paid.
khanjee Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I'm not a fan of IPL/BPL/Big bash or any such league ..will take test matches over t20/odi anyday.. So afridi get 700k? ego to aur bhi barda ho jayega banday ka..good luck to bpl team...the afridi drama will continue there now..
Needforspeed Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Boys and girls, some great names in the auctions! This is gonna be an IPL-killer. :phehehe: But max per Team is $2 Mil. Here (IPL) some individual players are bid for that.
Needforspeed Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Test Cricket is anyway losing money heavily. It is sustaining only because of the profits made from ODIs and T20s. So whatever a few nostalgic romantics may say, T20 is here to stay. We can expect all the boards now blaming IPL, starting their own IPL type leagues. Pakistan and SL will be next followed by SA. WI and Eng may be the last ones.
nballa Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 i hope it doesn't go the way of the BPL televisions. god brings back so many memories, mostly when it used to cut to static in the middle of a gripping scene.
Zelch Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Dont mock our Bangla friends... atleast they are not trying to go all Paki on themselves and saving us from the cleaning job.
Zelch Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 But max per Team is $2 Mil. Here (IPL) some individual players are bid for that. Yeah...but Bangladesh is almost the size of a Tn, AP, UP.. Considering that they are doing well...only problem would be Tonty TOnty effect on their test fortunes.
DaFan Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 All these T20 leagues are suppose to cater to the needs of the local population, not suppose to compete against IPL. At 160+ million cricket crazy population, BPL can definitively be a success at home and beyond if BPL takes in key international players and markets it well abroad. At only 3 weeks long the salary is very competitive too. BPL can crave itself a niche with IPL being the flagship T20 league. And as for impact of this on performance, BD national cricket team is pretty crappy so there is only room to go up (I hope) or remain stagnant.

Magneto Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I really hope the BPL thingie works well in Bangladesh. They should have tried getting some retired Aussie players as well. And some Indian ones.
kabira Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 And isn't your background Indian? A nation whose GDP per capita is approximately a paltry impoverished amount of $1300? People from the subcontinent needs to be more humble, considering all things BTW, Afridi went for $700,000 and Tamim's minimum is $105,000 thats 3.5 core RS and 50 Lak RS respectively. C. Gayle sold to Barishal Burners for 550 thousand US Dollar and K. Pollard sold to Dhaka Gladiators - 300 thousand US Dollar. So umm.. the player will be played more than "Rs 32" as you mentioned. You did not even understand what he meant...LOL BPL=Below Poverty Line
saneindian Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 The PCB should request BCB to let them host some BPL matches in Pakistan.

Dravid_TheWall Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 BPL is crap. The icon players or leaders for each team crack me up. Alok Kapali, Nafees e.t.c :hysterical:
bangladeshifan Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 You did not even understand what he meant...LOL BPL=Below Poverty Line :hysterical: hoping for a good tournament
yoda Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 That's some big moola for some of these players.
Needforspeed Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Give Credit where it is due. The Bangladesh Board seems to be much more competent and professional than the Lankans. All the best to the BPL. Hope some Indian Sports Channesl takes the feed and broadcasts.

That's the beauty of IPL and these leagues. They give an idea about upcoming talents. I think, Neo Cricket will broadcast these matches as they will be looking to cash on this opportunity
