saneindian
5-er for Dinda. Keeps getting wickets. NZ need 56 more to take a first innings lead and have 4 wickets left. Link to comment
Magneto
Dinda took 8 wickets :omg: To give EZ the lead 8 wickets in a semis 5 of the 6 NZ batsmen got starts but no one took the team home  Link to comment
saneindian
Dinda surely has booked his spot in team India for the next series or as a replacement for any of the pacers for the CB series. Dada was right when he said "Dinda is the best pacer in domestic cricket right now". Outstanding effort from him. It's a pity we haven't seen him bowl live the entire season. Hopefully EZ can go through to the finals from here on and w will get to see how well he is bowling. Link to comment
Magneto
The point to note is that both the teams capitulated while playing the second new ball on a wicket somewhat conducive to seamers. The new Kookaburra ball seems to be a tough cookie to handle for domestic batsmen. In the second innings for EZ, skipper Natraj Behera took initiative and opened the batting. Got out at 19. Anustup Majumdar has been sent at No.3. He is presently 21 not out with EZ 84/1. The EZ thinktank is taking some good decisions. Link to comment
Magneto
Point to note is that both Amit Mishra and Piyush Chawla has gone wicketless in the Duleep Trophy semis till now. Link to comment
Raghav_12
So more or less it is certain that final is going be between CZ and EZ, two most unlikely teams if you go by the reputation. But good that a lot of promising players from both zones will get a closer look in by being in Duleep Trophy final. Link to comment

Also proves that the BIG BAD zonal teams are not doing very well in domestic cricket anymore. No result is a foregone conclusion. Link to comment

Gony has 15 wickets@34 last season and 33 wickets@23 (the same season VK took 53 wickets@21) Tyagi has hardly played in last 3 seasons, and has got injured after playing 2-3 matches and this year lost his spot in the UP 11. OTOH Mithun had 31 wickets@30 and 52 wickets@21 in the last 2 seasons. VK had 27 wickets@23 and 53 wickets@20 in the last two seasons. if I read the numbers right, if Dinda based on the number of wickets he has picked in the ongoing season deserves a chance for India, so did VK and Mithun after their domestic performances! One name that you missed was that of Pankaj Singh, who definitely deserves a chance now. COnsistently picking wickets every seson and helping his team to back to back Ranji titles. Now that Mithun and Ishant have been found wanting, we will see the guys like Dinda and Pankaj getting an opportunity very soon. Link to comment
saneindian
100s for Vardhan and Anustup. EZ and CZ through to the finals. The only reason none of the teams are declaring is the 3 day gap between semis and finals, why would they exert their bowlers, especially the pacers so much. If only BCCI could give enough importance to the DT and give enough space between matches. Link to comment
Magneto
This is Anustup's third successive century in three important matches. The run of scores are 111, 102 not out, 26 not out, 24 and 135 not out. Surely puts a price on his wicket and has good temperament. Scores pretty quickly too. Needs to be looked at more seriously? saneindian
Saurav dada, why didn't he play in the earlier rounds of Ranji trophy? Jut one Ranji match for him despite the Bengal team struggling in the earlier rounds. Link to comment
Magneto
Saurav dada' date=' why didn't he play in the earlier rounds of Ranji trophy? Jut one Ranji match for him despite the Bengal team struggling in the earlier rounds.[/quote'] He's making a comeback I guess. His average is in the low thirties, which simply means he's had quite a few bad seasons and have come back in a new avatar. He's played some T20 and List A matches in the last season, and has an average of 45 in list A matches. Don't really know what changes he has made to his technique to do so well recently. I think he's surprised the Bengal team management as well. Link to comment
Magneto
EZ has declared giving NZ a target of 348 to win. NZ has scored 78 of 17 overs with none of the East Zone pacers having even bowled a single over. Only some part-timers are bowling. What clowning! Link to comment
