There is just too much Israeli flag waving going around these days .. agree that they fought and won against odds during the old Arab-Israeli war,fast forward to today - what they are doing currently is using ultra high-tech weapons on a bunch of kids chucking rocks and home-made missiles at them. You think Israel would bomb Gaza or Lebanon this frequently if any of them were as equally well armed as them ? If Lebanon was nuclear armed..Israel wouldn;t do squat about the rockets being fired at them from Southern Lebanon by Hezbollah. They would do the same thing as us...drum up some hype, which would die down in a few days. Anyone still remember the Hezbollah fiasco..how many tanks did they lose to a bunch of guerillas armed with RPGs.. we(India) are facing a much tougher opponent and need to play our pieces carefully. To Summarise..Israel wouldn't do anything more than what India did..if it had a nuclear armed neighbour.

But the point is, Israel never allowed its neighbours to get powerful in the first place! We sat over Pakistan's closeness to US and China. We let them develop into the formidable enemy they are today. We and only we are to blame for that. If you compare us with Israel, today or in the past, Israel has ZERO friends in the Arab land. They are all by themselves against the entire Arab world. The Arabs hate them. Even "hate" is a mild word. Yet, they have shown that they aren't a country to be messed with and somewhere, every Indian feels disappointed that we never grew a spine after Indira Gandhi's reign. Currently, our best policy is what we have been adopting - Expose Pakistan to the world. But is it right to do it at the cost of losing thousands of our civilians and Jawans every year to infiltrations and terror attacks? The answer is anybody's guess.

India's best case scenario is now unfolding where the US has realised the liability posed by Pak..except that China still sees it as an all-important challenge to keep India bogged down. Israel has a fast-rising nemesis in Iran..the coming months will see if they will do anything about it given that they are well within reach of Iranian missiles..all thats left is for the nuke to come into the pictire

We need to first recognize what we are - and superpower we are certainly not and we are half a century away from being one at the current growth rate. Why we can';t do the same with Taiwan is fairly obvious... the distance that seperates us, we don't share borders and can't reach them if China doesn't wants us to. And Taiwan for one doesn't need us, its not yearning for help like Pak is...they are a fairly robust self-sufficient force plus the US protection that they have. We became the weaker side the day the Chinese caught us unprepared and attacked us in the 60s....

Super powers aren't made in in a few decades, on top of that we are a democratic nation and everything that implies. First we need to get our 400 million people out of the depths of poverty, poverty so bad we are rated alongside some Sub-Saharan countries. They we need to work on the corruption, which is also a disgrace, have a look at the Transparency International ratings for us, it's a disgrace.

It is very hard to pull off a terrorist activities without internal help. Why don't we clean our house to start with, then tackle others.

It is an enormous task to overhaul this and noone is even looking at it now - we can't even punish the killer who was caught with the proverbial knife dripping in blood gripped in his hands..

Guru has been sentenced to death, so i Kasab, then the inordinate delay in hanging them citing frivolous political logic is plain wrong. Give everyone a fair trial (including the likes of Kasab) but once the judgement is done, dont let extraneous reasons come in the way of implementing the judgement
