saneindian Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I can understand the BCCI being concerned about the main 20-25 players and keeping them away from such leagues due to fears of burnout (??), but why stop the fringe players from playing in other t20 leagues around the world? I am sure IPL players like Valthaty, Jakati, Sid Trivedi or even some ODI specialists would be in demand if they were to be available for such leagues. Shouldn't they be allowed to go and play such leagues when we have got so many foreign players playing in our t20 league?

And being the head of the BCCI technical committee does not stop him from playing a 20-day tournament when he can go abroad for a month for his commentary stints.

In fact, they were just a wicket away from qualifying for the quarter-finals. And anyway since all the teams of Bangladesh wanted him, he could have as well gone.
