Honestly, who chalks up these schedules? This is a team whom we battled in the World Cup final (and 50 times n the year leading up to it), and are involved with in the tri-series now, then there's the Asia cup where we'll play each other another half a dozen times. Then a bilateral featuring (yawn!) 3 ODIs and 3 T20s. Of course, inevitably we'll face up to each other in the finals of the Asia Cup as is always the case. And maybe in the WT20 too later in the year. How has this happened? The only conclusion I can draw is that the debt-ridden SLC has approached the BCCI bigwigs for help and in return for kickbacks, Pawar and his bunch of cronies are polluting the market with Sl series after SL series, sponsored by the nearest plywood/cellphone manufacturer down the street. Somebody please make this stop!

Its not but the point is one day cricket is still a great revenue generating format. And I doubt any other team would be willing to play so many meaningless ODI series every year. We play a tri-series, 2 bi-lateral series with SL almost every year.

yea.. and playing Lanka is like 'milking a mal-nourished cow' - you end up feeding more than the returns you get.

On the contrary, they rarely ever play tri series when India ain't around anymore. The next one is in 2014-15, before the CWC, featuring India and England.

Wow, so we will be spending nearly 4 months in Australia on that tour! I hope the players get to fly back home for a couple of weeks before the WC, else could be a repeat of the 1992 WC when we were in Australia for nearly 5 months and by the middle of the WC, players looked totally exhausted and home sick.

In Aus conditions they will be with plenty of pacers and no spin worries. It would be a great way for us to prepare for the world cup facing Aus and Eng attack in Aus just before the tourney.

In 92 we were nowhere near financially to waht we are now. Flying the team back for 2-3 weeks would be peanuts for BCCI now compared to in 92.
