Talent and skills are there but for some reason we really keep messing up with bowler selection... Also generally our batting in last two tours we don't play as a unit. Fletcher and bowling coach watch on. Selectors say everything is ok e.t.c

Stat bias. This would be a more logical way of looking at it: 53 games in ODI by Sree and 75 wickets at SR of 33. That with Dhoni not giving him good fields and not a consistent run. Do any of our seamers have such record currently playing? The are barely managing a wicket per game and that too when batsman throws it away mostly :haha: Irfan's stats are due to Irfan 1.0, since last few years he hasn't been that good. Also adjust for Zim and Bang lol. Santh is a compulsive wicket taker of top order batsmen in any format of the game, he gets them out and doesn't rely on batsmen throwing it away.

Eventually wickets will fall. Yeah problem is these guys are very limited. At most can bowl a few tidy overs and build pressure. Can't afford to have too many of these kind of bowlers in the team even in LOI.

saneindian Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Will be lucky to play in a couple of matches at best even if fit. But given the history of "ayurvedic therapies", not sure how long he can bowl. If he is serious about his career, should go for a proper surgery which was advised to him 3 years ago, be away from the game for 6-7 months, work hard on rehab and then make a comeback. Else a career in malayalam movies is his only other option
