kanpur3214 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 We have to realize it's not always about our players doing something wrong. Tendulkar's slow hundred and Pathan and Dinda's crap bowling apart there was an opposition too that showed that they are maturing at last. Bangladesh is improving and they showed that against PAKISTAN too, a match they dominated more and were theirs to win till their last minute capitulation. Against us they were not in contention till Pathan's over. They have young batsmen who maybe not as good as our youngsters but imo at par or better than Pakistani and Sri lankan upcoming players. They dont have 35 year olds like Sri Lanka(Dilshan, Jayawardene, Sangakara) and Pakistan(Younis, Misbah, Afridi, Ajmal) who would be retiring soon. They have match winners who are 25 year olds so things should be rosy for them in the future. Tamim Iqbal looks very solid and better than Hafeez, Jamshed, Tharanga and co. Shakib is very free flowing and can shift gears easily. Little Mushfiqur has good technique and a cool head and can hit clean and big in spite of his size limitation. Nasir is street smart and and seems like a cool finisher who seems not fazed by the match situation. With these four and if a couple of more youngsters come up then I don't see why they cannot challenge the top teams regularly. Their only problem is their fast bowlers are club level. But who cares we won the world Cup with club level bowlers. Batting fire is what is needed in ODIs and T20Is and seems like they have more than some of our neighbours.
cricket_blood Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 very true and well said,Thnks for the kind words for our team !
Hell Raiser Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 They batted aggressively and smashed our trundlers all around the park. This win may give them the confidence that they do can certainly do better against big teams and start playing good cricket. It will be better for cricket if they start beating teams consistently rather than once in a year, because cricket certainly needs good competition.
Pagalpanti Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 True. The way bangladesh chased was epic, one of the rare occasions were Bangladesh actually planned and didn't succumb under the RR pressure and waited till last 5 overs to finish it off.
