Poll : Your expectations for the 2nd test Ind v SA

Re: Poll : Your expectations for the 2nd test Ind v SA I believe in such pitches there's a considerable luck factor involved. With the ball bouncing and darting all over the place, the batsmen need a certain amount of luck to survive the first 20-30 balls when they start. Hopefully for the sake of Indian batsmen I hope the nicks dont carry or the balls miss the edge by a whisker. Finally, lets all hope that the umpiring is fair.

Re: Poll : Your expectations for the 2nd test Ind v SA Guys... two things to note..... 1. We are 1-0 up in the series... and a huge psychological advantage.... not sure, if u guys can understand what a psychological advantage means.... if not, ask Windies, for the way they have been using it against us in ODIs... 2. The Durban-disaster of 96, tht u guys are worrying about is baseless... Reason: Durban is a bowler's pitch with 200-300 being a nice winning score.. We were bowled out for 100 and 66... Pause - look at their bowling... Allan Donald - The white lightning. Shaun Pollock - at his fastest. Klusener - bowling at 150 kph. Big Mcmillan - hits the deck like a sledge-hammer. this bowling attack of SA is not even a patch....No offence, but they are all medium pacers...

Re: Poll : Your expectations for the 2nd test Ind v SA gat, you are forgetting Ntini..if he gets it right he can cause some problems. But again it's just not the same as the 96 attack. I voted for India win btw, I think our batting if clicks is better than theirs and our bowling attack has a little edge.

Re: Poll : Your expectations for the 2nd test Ind v SA Gator, they still have a decent bowling attack with 140 kmph bowlers like Ntini and Nel partnering Pollock. Medium pacers they may be, but they are just as quick as anything India have to offer. You people are really getting carried away with the Wanderers win. Do you honestly think that a tottering batting lineup such as India's will be able to recover it's form on a seaming, cracked deck against some very accurate South African bowlers ? They bowled ODI lengths in the first test, and i don't expect them to make that mistake again. If India doesn't get a solid opening partnership for that 1st wicket, i don't see them crossing 250...and that looks unlikely with Sehwag in the worst form of his life. Jaffacake will probably make a score now that his head is on the chopping block, but that is also wishful thinking...

tht is not saying much, is it?? it comes down to batters then... and u know, they jus dont have the quality... it jus boils down to our guys applying themselves as they did in wanderers... still, it is sacrilege to compare smith, devilliers, kallis, gibbs, prince, boucher to sehwag, dravid, sachin, ganguly, laxman and dhoni.... leagues apart....

still' date=' it is sacrilege to compare smith, devilliers, kallis, gibbs, prince, boucher to sehwag, dravid, sachin, ganguly, laxman and dhoni.... leagues apart....[/quote'] You could have made the same statement back in '01 - India had the same middle order back then, but they were still smashed by Ntini, Pollock and Hayward. SA got a better batting lineup for the conditions. Dude, you gotta forget about the Indian batsmen's reputations and their averages. For all their individual run-scoring feats, they have hardly won India anything away from home. They have been batting poorly throughout the whole tour and it's impossible to imagine those nervous wrecks scoring totals above 350. As good as India's bowling attack may be, their efforts will come to nothing unless they have enough runs to defend.

Re: Poll : Your expectations for the 2nd test Ind v SA India not winning outside India for a few years was a big stigma for the senior guys, which was very evident from their earlier interviews. So every test win is seen as a big thing and the bigger picture of the series is totally lost on them. They always get carried away with their win... When we won in WI in 2002,it was the 1st test win outside subcontinent for some time..we got caught in tht...In Aus, right after adelaide win came the massive collapse in melbourne...In pak, again the same thing... And if we go by Dravids reaction, he was as happy as ponting winning the ashes, the WC and CT all put together..... So instead of being satisfied with just one win, i hope they work on the huge problems we have in batting and with the 4th bowlers spot.
