achilles Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 KKR winning is not banner news on cricinfo, while idiot Kevin Pieterson going on a twitter rampage is. How does that make sense? Michael Clarke gets to do his annual 'Give me an IPL contract' free add without fail every year on IPL, while numerous Indian players rarely ever get a mention. I can understand if cricinfo thinks test cricket takes precedence over any other form of the game, but that sort of makes sense only test cricket on show is of high(er) quality. How is a one-sided test match b/w West Indies and England any more captivating than a thrilling CSK-KKR final? About time BCCI buys Cricinfo through benami sources :D
Crookbond Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 IPL earns it's cricket cred As far as I understand, it's a very positive headline for the IPL.

YOu missed the sub headline "The league came of age on the field, but was well short of its crease as a TV spectacle" Not to forget lots of information on how much rating has falled down and how the commentry and presentation was bad
superstar Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 You probably checked the website a bit too late. There was indeed a banner! No. They tried to pathetically advertise county cricket. When KP scored for county that was the main news for the rest of the day and Gayles heroics were pushed aside. One had to search hard to find it. I am pretty sure not more than 10% wwould have watched county cricket on cricinfo. I misclicked it numerous times but did not give a damn.
CSK Fan Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Well so cricinfo can act as the "opposition" here, whats the big deal? We have many media sources who keep on praising and highlighting IPL, somtimes unfairly. So let one be against IPL

The TV numbers didn't match the 'spectacle' it started out to be.

I religiously check Cricinfo everyday and didn't notice what you where mentioning. Probably, you're landing up on their UK website which would then make sense of what you're trying to convey. As far as the main page for me is concerned, IPL always dominated County cricket.
