The event's scheduled first season in 2008 was cancelled because of the terrorist attack on Mumbai in November of that year. Most of them play for their first class, list A, T20 for the same side if i am correct. They don't have auctions like IPL where a Delhi player play for Kolkata, Chennai player play for Mumbai, Karnataka player play for Rajasthan. It also keeps changing from year to year. So the team bonding is much better for other domestic teams. But that doesn't mean they are good or better. They are all average.

Needforspeed Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 In all this hooplah over TV ratings, espncricinfo conviniently forget to mention the online viewers. Since more and more people (both in India and elswhere) have access to highspeed unlimited internet, lot of people have switched over to watching on internet this year. I know a lot of my friends (me too) who are watching it online, since other members of the family will be watchingother stuff on TV. Therefore a large chunk of the TV audience have actually migrated to online viewing. So any TRP has to take this factor also into consideration.

Anyways, the first tournament in 2009 was fantastic from a cricketing perspective.

Even if it is a staged one ( i am not saying it is one) like WWE it is going to have followers with all the drama like it or not. India is a perfect place to have such a thing as we are not good in any other sports if you exclude Kabaddi. So it works. it will continue to work. You can't change it.

Michael Clarke gets to do his annual 'Give me an IPL contract' free add without fail every year on IPL, while numerous Indian players rarely ever get a mention. I can understand if cricinfo thinks test cricket takes precedence over any other form of the game, but that sort of makes sense only test cricket on show is of high(er) quality. How is a one-sided test match b/w West Indies and England any more captivating than a thrilling CSK-KKR final?
