Of all the batsmen we have, I think Gambo is the one least capable of upping the gear. So he played well within his limitations to take the score past three figures to nearabouts 140. No complaints. If we lose this game, it ain't because of Gambit.

Actually anyone who was a "serious poster" would know the point. If he had taken a more dominant role earlier when we were 6-7 down, he could have picked appropriate balls to hit for 4's and shield the lower batsmen a bit more. A counterattacking innings. Instead he decided to do it when we were 9 down and he was basically panicking and going for it regardless of the ball bowled.

Not putting the blame of losing the game but definitely could have done better.

well i know but i have noticed this trend lately with many batsmen they no longer shield the tail anyway wht i meant was he wasnt not out at end ...so nothing really got wasted technically and unlike tests here u gotta score runs too so i can understand wht he was trying no conspiracy theory here

First in life for everything. I'm sure he isn't seeing an opener batting with a tail ender for the first time. Laxman with Ishant Sharma is totally different than Gambhir against Ojha mind you.

Just 1 game - Test match. He twice acted like a fool there too. Such "mistakes" shouldn't be taken lightly.

DTW's India 11 for 3rd ODI v SL I am just looking at those in the squad. I would do some shuffling and change some people. The next pitch is flat and also this was just a one off-I wouldn't panic. Viru (Captain) Rahane Gauti Kohli Raina Dhoni Tiwary Ashwin ZK Dinda Ojha Rahane should be ok opening, not much pressure with flatter pitches too. Gauti and Kohli at 3 and 4 gives us middle order stability. Tiwary can be a floater depending on match situation. I have preferred to play 7 batsmen, to score more and give the batsman more freedom to attack knowing they have protection down the order. Dinda is an honest trier and he is more economical than Yadav-I want to see him given a run. He looks a better ODI bowler to me than Yadav by far. Irfan is a liability, cannot bowl at the death e.t.c He is just accurate opening, but not a wicket taker. He and Zak together look very predictable bowling left arm over. Ashwin and Ojah will tighten things.

"Rest Dhoni" Viru is not playing the same and it's Mahi's fault. With being Captain, it would help him and the team.
