Petrol prices increased by 5 rupees in last 2 weeks. Brent has hit 62. I expect it to remain in this range for the time being.

Diesel prices were completely deregulated in 2014. Petrol had already been deregulated . The process began in Jan 2013 when the oil marketing companies were allowed to increase the price of diesel by 0.50 paise monthly . By Sept 2014 Diesel subsidies had been completely removed as a result.
