12 cops feared killed in Chhattisgarh naxal attack Kab jagegi sarkaar ..are bhejo military pratiksha kis baat ki hai.. ye policewale ki jaan ki kya koi kimat nahin hai.. RAIPUR, AUG 29 (PTI) At least 12 policemen were feared killed as armed Naxalites ambushed a police party in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh today, a top police official said. "One Station House Officer, three Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) jawans and eight Special Police Officers (SPOs) were feared killed when armed Naxalites ambushed a police party near Balmeta, about 575 km from here," Director General of Police Vishwaranjan told PTI. Sources from Dantewada said at least six policemen were injured in the attack and they were being shifted to District Hospital at Dantewada. Two police platoons had gone from Bhairamgarh base camp to Balmeta to provide security to the 300 villagers engaged in road construction work, and they were ambushed on their way back, the sources said. After the ambush, an exchange of fire broke out between the Maoists and the policemen, which was continuing when the last report came in, they said.

Problem is everytime such demands come up communazis in UPA veto it...since the state is governed by BJP so congress doesn't put its foot down.. It goes on and on.. BTW number of people killed by naxals outnumbers even the jihadi terror related death ....

The cops should seriously get some military support from the army and airforce for fighting this menace.
I disagree on this varun. Efforts should be on making the Indian police stronger rather than involving the army in internal matters. You are of course aware of the unique ethos and culture of the army which has by and large remained untarnished except when involved and required to do deal with civilians. That results in corruption of the army as has happened in Kashmir and earlier in Punjab. In an ideal scenario our police should be enough to handle such matters and we should make efforts for that to happen.

I think army culture remains same. It looks different because in border and civilian posting because when they are manning borders we give them longer rope keeping the ethos of whatever it takes wheras in civilian posting we are quick to jump on even slightest aberration..
