Desi Cartman Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 AMRITSAR: A policeman was murdered in full public view after he opposed to some men on Wednesday, allegedly including an Akali Dal activist, who were harassing his daughter. Assistant sub-inspector Ravinderpal Singh was shot dead from point blank range in Chehertha locality here following an argument with the assailants, who later managed to escape from the spot in a car, police commissioner Ram Singh said. The key accused has been identified as Shiromani Akali Dal district urban secretary Ranbir Singh Rana, Singh said, adding that a police team has been dispatched to arrest the accused. Ravinderpal was rushed to the hospital with heavy bleeding where he was declared brought dead, he said. He had reached the spot after being informed by his daughter, a bank employee, who had earlier also complained that she was chased and harassed by these youths, he said. According to Singh, she had told her father that the group of youth would regularly intercept her while on her way to office and pass lewd comments. How sad (

Sometimes you need to keep things to yourself and stay calm. Today every girl is abused on roads, that doesn't mean you should tell your father about each n every thing.

They get respect only from common man and small time thieves.

Since this happened in full public view I would hope there would be enough witness who can make this an open and shut case. Hope ur right though But as a Goan I can tell you that decades of political interference in the police force have robbed our coppers of any semblance of pride or unity(within the police force). Yes they would all unite against a petty criminal, but would 9 times out of 10 stay away from political cases.
