suraj
Gavaskar incident was worse than this - instead of refusing to leave he actually wanted both batsmen to leave in protest jeopardizing the result for the team. Thanks to the sensible manager that situation was finally averted. On another note England batsmen are still defying but now they just do it through captain & coach who beg the opposing captain to call their batsman back
The Outsider
Well, in defense of Gavaskar he was walking off after the leg before decision but the abuse he met with on his way back from Australian cricketers made him take that decision, which even he has admitted was wrong. However, it's important to clarify that Gavaskar's walk off was not due to the umpire's decision but due to on field abuse.
