Hats off to Australian selectors!!!

Not a fan of Australians but their whole setup, mentality and selection policies are the best around, we might have won the odd series against them but their culture, mentality and work ethic beats us the majority of times. Cant see them ever fielding players like Sehwag, UV or Ashwin and just looking at how many young bowlers they have tried in recent years is something we could never imagine.

Ponting was part of 3 WC winning teams while captianing two back-to-back unbeaten wins. He deserved whatever leeway he got
So you agree Ponting should have got more leeway based on past performance regardless of current form? Isnt this the same logic our selectors used for Sachin, Sehwag? And then you go onto say this.....
Fact is that Aussies managed their transition much better than what we did with not too many sentimental selections and ensuring team comes before individual(s). Aussies have shown time and again that they will make the tough calls for betterment of the team.
When you give more leeway to one player over another based on past performances and not current form, how is it not sentimental? In the past for players like Waugh, etc they could afford it since they had people like Hussey in the wings. That is not the case for India. But when Aussie cricket was going through a lean period, they gave Ponting a long, long rope, something which wouldnt have happened before. Now, when Aussie cricket is stabilized once again, they can afford these so called tough decisions

Aussies are very professional in everything when it comes to their cricket team and it gives them the edge. I guess that's why they dominated for a long period. Even with a not so talented team they have done very well and if they find 1 or 2 more really good players they will probably be dominating again.

With all due respect, Tendulkar didn't really win us 3 WCs. Plus Aussies have been hard-nosed most of the times whereas we had kapil going on for 2 years just to break Hadlee's record with Srinath riding the bench. Aussies would never had done the same and with selectors not dropping the seniors despite going 0-8 has got to take the cake. I assure you if Aussies had gone even close to 0-8, Ponting would have been out much earlier while we are waiting for Tendulkar to decide when he can retire despite 0-8 and despite losing at home to Eng. If you are trying to argue Indian selectors and administrators are as ruthless as their Aussie counterparts you are clearly wrong.
