Predator_05
nope it was a conspiracy. he got cheated by regional selectors Jokers. Check out his average after the 5th ODI vs Pakistan. 289 runs @ 24.08 in 14 matches. He failed in the Asia Cup, the Holland triangular, the Natwest Challenge, the ICC Champions Trophy. If you can't score in 4 consecutive series, you don't deserve a place in the team. He made his comeback when Chappell took over, BTW. Played a few ODIs in that triangular vs SL - did absolutely nothing. The fact is that Laxman got plenty of chances (more than he deserved) and he blew it. Link to comment
Rohan495
yea but he helped India win in pakistan. the final match. Link to comment

Rohan495
And your pointing out everything every player has there lean patch, If he proves himself and does well, why do people have to cancel him out like that? if hes performing well and india consistently loosing why not give him a chance. Holysmoke
I think laxman's case is very similar to Vaughn's. Vaughn also had the added skill in captaincy, but he is still no longer in the ODI team. Link to comment
Rohan495
Lol its sports my friend i take nothing personally, Sports is sports, my opinion is my opinion if people dont agree with me that doesnt mean my opinion will change. Predator_05
yea but he helped India win in pakistan. the final match. LMFAO. Completely ignored my post. 14 matches, 289 runs @ 24.08. That too when he was batting in the top 3. What a sh*tty batsman. Give me a chance in the Indian team and i'd match that...:haha: Link to comment
Rohan495
I didnt ignore it, I said everyone has a lean patch, learn how to read home boy, im sure i can pull put stats like that on tendulkar ganguly etc. Link to comment

He has played 86 matches - most of them as a top order batsman - and still averages 30.76. His whole damn career was a "lean patch"...:haha: Link to comment
Rohan495
yea sure was an Average of 41 in 2004, and then 2 matches in 2005, selectors made it lean for him. 86 matches? should have been 186. Link to comment

Rajiv
Actually I'd agree with Rohan, Lax was left off too soon and I don't mind seeing him in ODIs too Link to comment
novpj
At a time when we are talking of replacing SRT Ganguly and Dravid in the next couple of years we cant add another old fart to this team. The arguments for laxman range from a) once upon a time he won a match for us against Pakistan to b) he was dropped unfairly so lets screw the current team to make up for it. If we want an alternative for Gambhir try Karthick or Tiwary or Sharma not Laxman. Link to comment
Rohan495
Lets not forget that Laxman is a class player, of late has been part of famous Indian Victories. Whether its the end of the road for Laxman as far as ODI's r concerned or still in contention Laxman is Laxman, when in full flow a majestic batsmen Link to comment
