game_changerr Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Ambati Rayudu appears to be at peace with himself these days. His calm exterior reflects his state of mind. “I was relaxed out there today. I wanted to enjoy my cricket. I just want to keep doing well,” he said after his innings of 87 against the Australians here on Wednesday. Rayudu confessed that playing for India in Tests was his big dream, but was not willing to put pressure on himself. “I just want to focus on my batting. I was happy that I spent so much time at the crease. I am getting into good positions and I feel good.” The right-hander burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old, conjuring a magnificent, match-winning 177 against host England in an under-19 One-Day contest. Here was a shot-maker with possibilities. Subsequently, Rayudu went through a gamut of emotions as his career ran into rough weather. He has learnt to take disappointments in his stride. Asked what motivated him during the dark phase, Rayudu replied, “I love this game. Just being able to play this game is the greatest motivation in itself.” Rayudu, who has made 5183 runs in 80 first class matches at 46.27, has found his feet again after moving to Baroda, which he now represents in the Ranji Trophy src-the hindu
Pagalpanti Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Dhoni have not even played Pujara yet in ODIs let alone Rayudu while Pujara is a must for ODIS for 2015 WC in Aus. I want Pujara to open and bring stability in ODIs which we are lacking nowadays with GG and Viru both fading away. Veeru is a gone case for ODI's given next world cup is in Australia. But Gauti is actually a player for all conditions, He's going through a rut but if he rediscovers his form. He'll be useful, he showed it in NZ and SA.
MCcricket Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Rayudu is talented n classy he has cast his demons aside n ready to play for India he might do well then these big names n players still playing past their prime big times, I would love to see him in tests odi's
Vivek.S.123 Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 Imagine the results that we would have got if the team invested in Rayudu instead of Rohit :((
carnish Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I believe that he should be representing India in all 3 formats of the game. What do you say? THIS!!
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 He is not too dissimilar to Rohit just hits the ball harder and would probably have been more consistant, Rohit has been one of the most frustrating talents but partly its selectors fault for not giving him his test debut after years and years
MCcricket Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 If selectors can see genuine talent and also he has backed it with very good performance at home n away, Rayudu is a must for SA as he has what it takes to be successful there and is a fighter and very classy bat, I would put my money on him and Pankaj Singh to succeed. These two talented players have been ignored for quite sometime, selectors need to plan and back the right players for the season ahead where India will be playing important away tours. Murali Dhawan Gambhir Reserve Pujara Sehwag Kohli Rayudu Sachin might retire Dhoni Ashwin Irfan B Kumar Pankaj Umesh Aaron Shami Should be the squad, I am not sure about any other spinner being useful there and a good leg spinner might be handy but we don't have any.

Ladda?
MCcricket Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I haven't seen Ladda bowl maybe just a glimpse but even Murugan who is a rookie looked promising
Vivek.S.123 Posted March 21, 2013 Author Posted March 21, 2013 Can't believe they picked Raina ahead of him
MCcricket Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 This guy could be one hell of a player for India in tests especially away, selectors and the captain coach nexus is sickening
bharat297 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 instead of investing so much in that NOHIT' date='selectors should giv c hance to raydu,,,,imgine wat raydu would have become after 90 odi's[/quote'] I love this common misconception that we have "invested" in Rohit Sharma. He hasn't played a single test match. What's the investment?
game_changerr Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I love this common misconception that we have "invested" in Rohit Sharma. He hasn't played a single test match. What's the investment? 86 odi's with avg around just 30...with only 2 century....(1 against zim)
bharat297 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 86 odi's with avg around just 30...with only 2 century....(1 against zim) Yep thats in ODIs and he should not be picked in ODIs. His domestic career has shown he's more suited to the longer form of the game. Despite a Ranji trophy average of 60, he hasn't played a single Test.
harmuk Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Can't believe they picked Raina ahead of him :facepalm:Seriously it is a slap in the face for Rayadu. It is not going to happen for him, no matter what he does from here. It is over for him. Sad but true.
skindia Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 He will be like badrinath less chances after hardwork if he fails early.
