Hitting the stumps is a routine you go through every single day in net practice. It's the most basic of skills required to play a cricket match. Every professional cricketer is able to do this. Just like a professional footballer would score a penalty from 12 yards 9 times out of 10, or an ice hockey player could swerve and deke out a goaltender on a breakaway before slotting home. The reason why certain players miss under these circumstances is because of PRESSURE. That's it. The knowledge that everything rests on them hitting the stumps from 22 yards changes everything.
