We are a very good test team' date=' an excellent 20/20 team, but suck at 50-over ODIs. Go figure!![/quote'] Not that true though. Just a couple of changes could make the ODI team very strong and some sensible umpiring would help. SAF were beaten very recently in ODIs too.

Do a MASS CULLING of the seniors in the ODI team and you will see INSTANT IMPROVEMENT.
Doubt it. I don't think only youngster team can sustain this level of performance for 100 overs.

I disagree. The average age of the Indian cricket team during the most successful ODI season in this decade - 2002/03 - was 24. That is right, 24. If anything, the brittle SENIORS are the ones who won't be able to sustain a high level of performance (with bat & in the field) over 100 overs.

Just pure energy does not equate with performance.

...and the younger players can't perform ? Did you see how Dhoni and Rohit Sharma handled the pressure today ? 3 wickets down in the space of an over, the team reeling on a bowling friendly pitch and this newly appointed captain along with an immensely talented Mumbaikar who happened to be making HIS DEBUT steered India to an unassailable total. It's not just about "energy" - it's about ATTITUDE. These kids don't put themselves under pressure like Tendulkar or Dravid would in similar situations

Bah, there is no such thing as pressure in 20/20 :haha:

Biggest problem facing Indian cricket is that the oldies don't know when to retire. They just want to suck every last ounce out of their cricketing life. There is no such thing as going out on top. They always have to be kicked in their balls and asked to get the fack out before they do it on their own.

1. Ganguly Must be forced to retire from ODI ..(just to be on safer side..that he does not make a comeback) his poor running and very very poor fielding..and very weak arms....is just embarrassing. 2. Bring back sehwag..Rohit sharma..piyush chawla..

I still think SRT would've been more than a handful in 20-20.
Definitely and a handy bowler too. Lucky for bowlers worldwide that 20/20 wasn't invented in the 90s
