Sohail Tanvir's bowling action confuses batsmen

Tanvir was, and is, particularly tricky. The left-armer has an awkward action that confuses batsmen. The release comes off the wrong foot as the rangy 22-year-old - experiencing a first go in international cricket here - looks down at the ground. New Zealand, though, should have done better with the bat and they knew it.

New and recalled faces have impressed, especially Sohail Tanvir, whose wrong-footed action has flummoxed some of the best players in the world, and Misbah-ul-Haq, after his original selection ahead of Mohammad Yousuf sparked heated debate

I think he is going to be their biggest threat. Asif can be countered by Yuvraj in his current form, but Tanvir is an unknown quantity. The Indian batsmen didn't play him with a great deal of confidence in the group stage match. His sideways run-up and quick armed release is difficult to read, even at his relatively slow pace. I am sure they have prepared for him though.

He will be sorted out . Just like in the case with Malinga. Keep in mind , SA batsmen were clueless against Malinga in the last world cup and he has not fared that well in this Twenty20 WC. BTW, Max Walker also used to bowl like Tanvir. So hardly original.

Predz, IMO - the biggest threats are still: 1. Umar Gul in the middle overs 2. Asif 3. The maniac Afridi bowling Batting: Against India, always SHOAIB MALIK and the Younis Khan
