kabira
Indian thinktank and captain had very simple game plan.. Dhoni had already said he will love to set the target and they did win all the games setting the target. Game plan was simple, do what they do the best...set the target..does not matter if they play SA who had great record chasing huge totals...Aussies who had bowled really well first up....and Paksitan who had won games chasing against Australia and NZL. In past I have seen our think tank concentrate too much on oppositions strength...but here Dhoni concentrated on their strength.. failry uncomplicated game plan.. opening partnership..do not throw away wicket...play out first 5-6 overs.. target 4th, 5th and 6th bowlers...and keep wickets in hand and go berserk in the end.. this simple uncomplicated approach paid divedend. kabira
no ifs and buts dude...Dhoni had Sholay coin. Link to comment
kabira
actually...I believe SA would hav chosen to bowl first anyways..and I think even Aussies would have loved to chase...may be England would have batted first. Pakistan may have chosen to bowl first who knows.. Link to comment
Dirty_South
What if they're asked to bowl first? Even if Shoaib wud have won da toss , he told he wudda opted to bowl first.... so STFU ...:haha::finger::haha: Link to comment
sm332
yup solid gameplan executed very well ... Dhoni comes across as very cerebral but also someone who can relate to the more joshilay players like Yuvi and Bhajji Link to comment
fineleg
Yes - if India had to bat second, we may have struggled bit more, maybe - maybe not. But the point is today we have a strength in batting first. Today we have achieved a big win. We will take confidence from today, and improve weak areas going forward (if BCCI dont interfere and screw up our team). Link to comment

To have the confidence in the teams ability. Brilliant. Link to comment
