many football stadiums like the Millennium stadium in wales and even Wembly i do believe have roofs. Its impossible to have a cricket field which is covered. the area of a cricket pitch is much more than a football field.

In Football, the ball doesn't go up too high and hence a roof can be built at a decent height plus English football stadiums usually have higher capacities and hence bigger stands ... Not so in cricket ... Cricket usually has these 20-25K capacity grounds in England and hence lower height stands where building a roof isn't very easy just because ball can go real high in cricket especially when players like Shahid Afridi bat.
