zumi Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 can't think of such a pressure game where all odds were stacked against the winning team: -Overcast, windy, and very chilly (approx. 15°C!!) conditions (for a team not use to it) -Pitch specially prepared for seam and swing to aid England's bowling unit -Lost toss, and asked to bat first, -Stop/start innings with frequent brief showers, no stop/start during England innings -not knowing what was a defendable total batting in a rain curtailed game -England being well prepared for their home conditions coming on the back of playing a Test and ODI series vs NZ, whilst Indian players were busying playing on the dry pitches of India. -Edgbaston is England's fortress in all formats -defending a very low total :hatsoff: to MSD and his men. what a fight!
NareshK Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Great effort. They seem to have a tendency to bounce back from any situation. Quality of a champion side.
Crookbond Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 1985 World Series is the only one which comes close in terms of domination.
carnish Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 1985 World Series is the only one which comes close in terms of domination. This was better domination. I guess everyone will agree ... We won all games apart from the Finals too easily.
