Yuvraj4Captaincy
Yuvi isn't fit to shine laxman's shoes in tests and yet he played ahead of him against Eng, IIRC. That time will tell...His average is certinaly higher than laxmans at same stage of their test career. That was a comment uncalled for. For now, laxman is a established test bat and yuvi is struggling to make it to the team. Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
and I cant believe some of the comments from last yr..asking for laxman to be in the odis..loll..cant field, cant attack, cant bowl, cant bat with the tail blah blah.... but I am sure no one will say it now He is a good test bat..but not fit for any other format. The Outsider
Y4C, do you know where Laxman batted for most of those 19 tests and realizing he was not going to cut it there, broke his way through the Indian middle order with a couple of triple centuries in domestic cricket. Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
Y4C' date=' do you know where Laxman batted for most of those 19 tests and realizing he was not going to cut it there, broke his way through the Indian middle order with a couple of triple centuries in domestic cricket.[/quote'] Yup , I know that. He has proved himself in the tests and is a must. I was just addressing the comment made above. Link to comment
bharat297
^ I am not sure about Laxman in the ODIs ... for the main reason that the ODI game has changed alot over the past few years and people that score at 70-80 are being driven out of the game (personally I think this has ruined the one-day format) ... but nonetheless given that we have given Gambhir many chances at 3, Uthappa many chances at 3, Yuvraj has had a few chances at 3, Sehwag has had many chances at 3 ... at this stage no one has really cemented the spot ... so I suppose VVS does deserve another chance at 3 ... I am just looking at the form Ian Bell is showing for England and thinking that if successful Laxman could provide a similar role. However, I am still unsure about VVS in ODIs ... I'd like VVS to take the no.3 spot in Tests moreso than in ODIs. Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
There shouldn't be any thinking done either where two words ' laxman' and 'odis' come together. It is my opinion...dont flame me for it. Link to comment
Rohan495
This thread was from last year. Laxman will never make it back to ODIs ive given hope so has many other Laxman fans. Dravid is now a discard from the ODI team theres no way Laxman will ever play another ODI unless he scores like crazy in this test series and plays as well as he did in australia 4 years, then i guess you can call it a "slim chance" but for now he should take it game by game pile up as many runs and get his average up.
