Re: Why 'wide rules' are so ridiculously lax in Test cricket? That is because there is so much time and bowlers will mostly (90% of the times) will not try to bowl down the leg or wide outside the off stump. I haven't seen fast bowlers bowl too many down the leg consistently. If they start doing more often they will change the rules surely.

Re: Why 'wide rules' are so ridiculously lax in Test cricket? Its something no one will try under normal circumstances but most certainly as a restrictive measure, a situation like yesterday.Heck Ass-ley Piles does that for living!
