Why is raina playing the A-tour?

this for guys who are just beginning to find their feet in intl. cricket and novice kids raina is a odi batting stalwart. he doesn't need to play the A-tour one day series. if he really wants to get into the test team, then how about signing for a mid-level county team like gambhir and improving on his technique? that carries far more credentials... agree/disagree?

everyone is yapping about how sachin is stealing a youngster's spot in the test side... but at the end of the day, test records matter for us A-tour records dont matter. hell even if get whitewashed, i would be very happy if some youngsters get a taste for a notch below range of intl. cricket and gives them some motivation... i like raina but sorry dude, you are just stealing rayudu's spot. even if raina makes a triple century in this fake test match he wont get a test spot... becoz this is much below his range. infact i would say that if gambhir comes out with 3 hundreds in the county season, he will a serious chance for a comeback rohit, dhawan, murali are playing to get a hang of their new batting positions pujara is trying for a odi spot rahane for a spot in any format... he is desperate karthik is an 2nd option... so we are keeping him in the fringes all bowlers are newbies --- what the hell is raina doing?
