This is my list of best innings by overseas batsmen in order of merit in test matches Australia 1.Brian Lara's 277 at Sydney A classic exhibition of batting on back and front foot where the domination of bowling was complete. 2.Gary Sobers 254 at Mebourne for rest of the world in 1972 The almost perfect innings dispaling every facet needed to compile a perfect innings. 3.Viv Richards 170 for Rest of the World in 1977-78 Tore paceman like Lillee to the shreds. 4.Roy Frederick's 169 at Perth One of test cricket's classic counter-attacks where Lillee and Thosmon were pulverized like a tiger tearing flesh. 5.Gary Sobers 132 in Brisbane in 1960-61 in the tied 1st test Bissected every corner of the field with supreme artistry and changed the complexion of a classic game 6.Sachin Tendulkar's 114 at Perth Like seeing Bradman re-incarnated.An almost perfect innings with the ball manouvred with unmatched technical mastery and imagination. 7.Rohan Kanhai's 115 at Perth for rest of the world in 1972 One of the best counter attacking batting exhibitions ever seen against great pace bowling. 8.Rahul Dravid's 233 at Adelaide in 2003-04 Changed the complexion of a match almost lost in a record 303 run partnership with Laxman.Great restraint and technical skill. 9.Javed Miandad's 135 at Perth in 1978-79 Mastered a fast track with great skill.Superb footwork and application 10.Vijay Hazare's back to back centuries in 1947-48 in a single test at Adelaide Technical mastery and supreme artistry against Bradman's all-conquering team. 11.Gundappa Vishwanath's 114 at Melbourne in1980-81 Brilliantly tackled a great Aussie attack in difficult conditions which eventually won the game for India. 12.Asif Iqbal's 120 at Sydney in 1976-77 Mastered a green top with great flair and above all won Pakistan it's 1st win on Australian soil.
