To the point. No cheese. Its mostly the Australians and English who have these really annoying phrases. Cheesy names aside, i think cricket boards need to clamp down on these cricketers by asking them to sign confidentiality agreements to not release tell all books atleast 10 years after they retire so that the players they are playing with are also retired. I dont know if people have been following it but Ponting and Hussey have basically taken massive digs directly or indirectly at Clarke. Clarke is currently playing and just how much pressure must he be under? and just how disappointed must he be? Seems to me that this book releasing culture. (A) Hype up events and add masala (B) Probably make up thoughts you had at the time I am glad Indian players (so far have not released books). Some things need to be private. Kumble is releasing a book, but atleast MSD aside most people he played with are retired or axed from the squad.

Its not about telling it how it is. Its about potential disruption to the current playing squad.

Yes both A & B in the OP seems about right and the confidentiality agreement binding for a period of time is interesting. A though is more likely to do with the editor-publisher combo than the primary author himself - from what i gather those guys usually get a 60-70% cut sometimes more out of the revenues generated hmmm even for prominent writers.

ofcourse they made big money. Thats why they release the book. Clearly even ponting knew he would be losing friends and making enemies with this book.

But you have to understand with Ponting that he will be straight to the point that's how he is. Plus the current playing squad would know what has been happening since they were playing in the same change rooms.
