Pathan the new ball bowler

The ironic thing is that Pathan is bowling 135+ and Dhoni is standing up to the stumps. Quite a few of Pathans balls were edges to the 3rd man for boundaries. I dont know if bringing Pathan to open the bowling is a good idea. When he comes later in the innings, he has more protection, and can bowl better. If he opens the bowling, it could go either way, him picking up wickets or getting hammered. If he opens the bowling, he might just concentrate on swinging the ball and decrease his speed. Although, these days, he is using the slower ball better.

Pathan is a swing bowler the good thing about him is he knows to vary his pace and can disturb the batsmen when they are trying to hit over the top during initial overs :two_thumbs_up:

As I said earlier, Irfan bowls well to opening orthodox right-handers and front-foot left-handed batsman...so, in either cases he is effective while opening the bowling alongwith Zaheer Khan!

Even i found that weird but then i noticed whenever Dhoni stands up to pathan , he drops his pace to 115 -120.
